Wedding professional vs."friendor"

You may be asking, “What is a Friendor”? A “Friendor" is someone you ask to play a role in your wedding, such as photography, floral, catering, officiant, DJ or Coordinator, just to name a few. It could be a friend or a family member. Today’s brides are trying to save some money and let’s face it, who isn’t? But when it comes to one of the most important days of your life, you should not be trusting just anyone to come through with services. You only get one chance to do it right. There is no do over with a wedding.

Uncle George may have a hobby taking photos of nature or at birthday parties, but has he ever shot wedding photos? Can he plan for how much time he will need to take all the photos you want? Get the best lighting or use top of the line camera equipment? Your wedding photos should be something you will want to share with generations to come. Can you imagine what can happen if the photos don’t turn out right? What if he gets sick that day? Does he have a back-up?

Maybe your “Friendor” is really a professional. Then go ahead and have them help you out. But remember, it could get touchy with a friend or family member if it turns out you don’t care for the photos or whatever service they provide for you.
